Terms of Service & Booking Conditions

These Terms of Service and Booking Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the use of the Shutter Tours website and to tours, transportation, and related services purchased directly from Shutter Tours, LLC (“Shutter Tours,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using this website or completing a booking with Shutter Tours, you agree to these Terms.

If you book through a third-party seller such as Viator, Tripadvisor, Expedia, FareHarbor, or another reseller or booking platform, additional terms and cancellation rules from that company may also apply. Where a third-party seller collected your payment, refund requests may need to be handled directly through that seller.

1. Tour Reservations and Payment

A reservation is confirmed when the required payment or deposit has been successfully processed and a booking confirmation has been issued.

Tour prices, applicable taxes, booking fees, included items, and any additional required charges will be disclosed in the booking process before you complete your purchase. Prices and availability may change until a reservation is confirmed.

Private tours, group charters, seasonal tours, and special itineraries may have different payment schedules, deposits, cancellation terms, or minimum charges. Those terms will be provided with the applicable quote or booking information and will control for that reservation.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policies

Cancellation and refund terms vary by tour. The cancellation policy shown on the specific tour page, booking confirmation, checkout page, or custom-tour agreement at the time of purchase is part of these Terms and controls that reservation.

Some seasonal, private, charter, group, or special-event tours may have stricter cancellation policies because capacity, vehicles, guides, attraction tickets, or other services are reserved specifically for the booking.

Bookings made through a third-party reseller are subject to that reseller’s cancellation and refund procedures. Shutter Tours may not be able to directly refund payments collected by another company.

3. Meeting Points, Check-In, and Late Arrivals

Guests are responsible for arriving at the stated meeting location by the check-in time shown in their booking information. We recommend allowing extra time for traffic, parking, rideshare delays, public transportation, and walking to the meeting point.

Public tours must depart on schedule for the benefit of the entire group. We cannot guarantee that a tour can wait for a late-arriving guest. Missing a departure because of late arrival, transportation problems, parking delays, or going to the wrong meeting location may be treated as a no-show under the cancellation policy applicable to the booking.

4. Tour Duration and Return Times

Published tour durations and return times are our planned schedule, and we make reasonable efforts to operate tours accordingly. Actual timing can occasionally vary because of traffic, road closures, weather, attraction operations, crowd levels, emergency conditions, guest needs, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If you have a flight, cruise departure, restaurant reservation, ticketed event, or other time-sensitive commitment after the tour, please allow an appropriate buffer after the scheduled return time.

5. Itineraries and Tour Changes

Tour descriptions represent the itinerary we intend to provide, but stops, routes, order of visits, duration at individual locations, and included attractions may change when reasonably necessary because of traffic, weather, road closures, seasonal conditions, construction, attraction closures, crowd levels, safety concerns, or other operating conditions.

When a scheduled stop is unavailable, we may substitute another stop or modify the itinerary when practical. Wildlife sightings, mountain visibility, weather, flowers in bloom, waterfalls, seasonal conditions, and other natural phenomena cannot be guaranteed.

6. Weather and Operating Conditions

Tours may operate in rain, cold, heat, or other typical Pacific Northwest weather. Guests should review the forecast and dress appropriately for the conditions expected on the day of the tour.

Shutter Tours may delay, modify, reschedule, or cancel a tour when we reasonably determine that weather, road conditions, wildfire, smoke, snow, emergencies, government restrictions, attraction closures, mechanical problems, or other conditions make operation unsafe or impractical.

If Shutter Tours cancels a tour, any refund, credit, or rebooking option will be handled in accordance with the policy applicable to that reservation and applicable law.

7. Transportation and Vehicles

Vehicles used for tours may vary depending on group size, availability, route, and operational requirements. Guests must follow guide instructions and use seat belts when provided and required.

Shutter Tours may use appropriately licensed transportation providers or vehicles supplied by third parties for certain private, charter, or larger-group services.

8. Walking, Mobility, and Accessibility

Walking requirements and terrain vary by tour and stop. Some locations may include inclines, gravel, grass, wet or uneven surfaces, stairs, curbs, or distances from the vehicle to the attraction.

We want guests to have a comfortable experience and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate mobility needs when we are informed in advance. Foldable walkers or wheelchairs may be accommodated on certain vehicles when the guest can board with minimal assistance and when vehicle capacity allows. Not all vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts or ramps.

Please contact us before booking if a guest has significant mobility needs or requires a specific accommodation so we can explain the conditions of the tour and determine what arrangements may be possible.

9. Service Animals

Shutter Tours follows applicable federal, state, and local laws concerning service animals. Pets and emotional-support animals that do not qualify as service animals under applicable law may be subject to different restrictions. Guests with questions about bringing a service animal should contact us before the tour so we can plan appropriately.

10. Children and Minors

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult. Guests are responsible for supplying any legally required child restraint or car seat unless Shutter Tours has specifically agreed in writing to provide one.

Age restrictions or special requirements may apply to certain third-party attractions included in a private or custom itinerary.

11. Guest Conduct and Safety

Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions from guides, drivers, attraction staff, and property owners. Shutter Tours may refuse service or remove a guest from a tour when the guest’s conduct creates a safety risk, substantially disrupts the experience of others, damages property, harasses another person, or violates applicable law.

Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings. Please keep valuables, cameras, phones, identification, and other possessions with you whenever possible.

12. Alcohol, Wineries, Breweries, and Similar Activities

Guests participating in wine, brewery, distillery, or other alcohol-related itineraries must comply with applicable age requirements and may be required to present government-issued identification. Third-party venues may refuse alcohol service at their discretion.

Shutter Tours does not guarantee tasting availability, specific products, or admission to third-party establishments.

13. Third-Party Attractions and Services

Some tours may include or recommend attractions, restaurants, wineries, museums, parks, transportation providers, or other businesses that are independently owned and operated. Their hours, admission rules, pricing, accessibility, availability, and operating policies are outside Shutter Tours’ control and may change without notice.

14. Photography

Photography advice and assistance offered by Shutter Tours guides is provided as part of the guest experience. Results depend on equipment, lighting, weather, subject matter, and other conditions, and specific photographic results cannot be guaranteed.

Guests must comply with photography restrictions imposed by attractions, private property owners, government agencies, or other third parties.

15. Assumption of Ordinary Travel and Sightseeing Risks

Guests acknowledge that sightseeing and travel may involve ordinary risks associated with vehicle transportation, walking, changing weather, outdoor environments, crowds, public places, uneven terrain, stairs, wildlife, and other conditions encountered during travel.

Guests are responsible for deciding whether a tour is appropriate for their own abilities, circumstances, and health needs and should ask us before booking if they are uncertain about a particular activity or location.

16. Website Use and Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, photographs, graphics, logos, videos, tour descriptions, downloadable materials, and other original content on this website are owned by or licensed to Shutter Tours and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may view and use the website for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, commercially distribute, scrape for republication, or create derivative commercial works from our original content without prior written permission, except as otherwise permitted by law.

17. Website Accuracy and Availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current, but website content may occasionally contain typographical errors, outdated information, broken links, or other inaccuracies. Availability, schedules, pricing, attractions, and operating conditions may change.

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue website content or features at any time.

18. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Privacy rights and obligations may vary according to where a guest resides and which laws apply to a particular transaction.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shutter Tours will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of the website or services, including losses resulting from events or services outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

20. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shutter Tours, LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, losses, or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, intentional misconduct, material violation of these Terms, or damage you cause to persons or property.

21. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Any dispute that is properly brought in court shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Washington State, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply.

22. Severability and Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure by Shutter Tours to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page will show the date of the most recent update. Changes apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
