Tour Info
Information relating to the tour
Q.1 How long is the walking tour?
The walking part of our tour last almost 2 hours and is approximately 1.6 miles. We have designed our tour route to include minimal steps for an easy walking tour throughout the city. We then spend about 45 minutes helping our tour participants with feedback while shooting in the market. This is more of a relaxed time and allows you to shoot with the skills you learned and you are free to wander as you see fit. We are always available for feedback during this time.
Q.2 What about wheelchair and strollers on the tour?
Since this is a walking tour that takes us through alleys, steps and cobblestone streets along with a crowded Pike Place Market, wheelchairs and strollers are not allowed.
Q.3 Can we bring tripods?
Tripods present a problem due to the crowded market area. Small tripods that normally are no more than 6 inches tall are fine if you want to create some panoramic photos. Tripods are great for getting some night shots after the tour, so it is advisable to have them for your trip to Seattle, just not on the tour.
Q.4 Can we buy tickets the day of the tour?
Please call us at 425-516-8838 for day of tour ticket availability. We close all ticket selling 18 hours in advance for scheduling purposes. We will periodically get cancellations due to missed travel connections.
Q.5 How big are the groups?
We limit our tour group size to 8 adults. Because of the type of tour we are providing, individual help is often required for feedback and suggestions. Limited group sizes also ensure you receive a quality tour.
Q.6 What if the tour is canceled?
Since we use a third party ticketing agency, your money is safe if we do not fulfill our obligations of providing a tour. Through Brown Paper Tickets any cancellations by us will result in a ticket refund.
Q.7 How many batteries should I have?
Please bring enough batteries to shoot 250-300 images. We have had some people not fully charge their camera batteries and be unable to shoot, so it is advisable to bring at least one extra. Due to the many variations of digital camera batteries, we are unable to provide extra batteries, but there are local camera stores where you can buy them ahead of the tour.
Q.8 Is this a workshop?
Photography workshops can be an intense learning experience and this is far from that type of format. At each location we have created a mini lesson, taking a few minutes to explain simple composition concepts to the group along with history and background of the location. You are then free to shoot and ask questions from our knowledgeable staff, if you need more direction. We keep it fun and light without all the complexity of a workshop.

Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous questions about the tour
Q.1 Are bathrooms available?
We are always in close proximity to public restrooms throughout the tour.
Q.2 What will the weather be like?
Seattle is one of the best places to be during the summertime. It seldom gets over 90 degrees and or below 50. Cold winds do come off the Puget Sound and we do get our share of rain as you might have heard. It is advisable to protect yourself and your gear in case of rain.
Q.3 You sell Travel Insurance?
As a courtesy to our customers, we have partnered with Squaremouth.com to offer travel insurance options. As seen in NBC Today – Fodors guide books, Disney guide books, New York Times, etc. Squaremouth.com is a comparison shopping website to help you get the lowest price on travel insurance. Should there be medical or cancellation concerns, travel insurance is a wise choice.
